Nathan Lane embraces an emotional Gomez in 'The Addams Family'
Lane was in a strikingly emotional mood a few days before his first public performance as Gomez Addams of "The Addams Family," which he said will be his 17th Broadway show ("that must be more than Marian Seldes"). The musical, now in previews, opens Dec. 9 and will run through Jan. 10 before heading to New York for an April premiere.
He had been coaxed into the project _ and away from another more tenuous Broadway project _ when writer Marshall Brickman called him and said the very thing that torpedoes the defenses of every actor: "We wrote this part with you in mind."

Nathan Lane and Bebe Neuwirth Cast to Star in Addams Musical
Nathan Lane and Bebe Neuwirth have accepted the offered rolls of Gomez and Mortica Addams in the upcoming Broadway musical of the Addams Family that's set for 2009/2010.
